Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 JellyBean Roll-out to Start in January 2013

Samsung Galaxy S Advance GT-I9070 or Samsung Galaxy S2 Mini will get upgrade to JellyBean in January next year. Earlier Samsung released a list of handsets that were eligible for Android v4.1.2 JellyBean upgrade. Galaxy S3, Galaxy Note, Galaxy S2 already received JellyBean ROM. Now it’s turn for Galaxy S Advance to receive the JellyBean roll out. The news is leaked by Samsung Germany in Facebook page and supported by Samsung Sweden. Like other Samsung handsets Jellybean roll out will happen is several phases. Depending on region or carrier the upgrade may get experience some delay. Do not worry if it happens. It’s going to be a OTA (over-the-air) upgrade. You can also install the upgrade package via Samsung KIES.

SamsungMobileDeutschland also leaked the news in Facebook which means it’s pretty certain the premium droid will get this upgrade in January. Though you can’t completely rely on anything published in Facebook. But several sources are claiming the same news. Therefore, you can expect the news is true or at least partially true.

Samsung Galaxy S Advance currently runs on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread platform. Powered by ST Ericsson U8500 SoC (dual Cortex A9 CPU cores + Mali 400-MP GPU) the droid features 4 inch Super AMOLED display. JellyBean upgrade will surely make this droid more catchy. The closest competitor of I9070 is Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini that runs Android 4.1.2 JellyBean out of the box but costs some extra bucks. Now it’s pretty certain Galaxy S Advance will regain it’s momentum once again.
